Richard Hacon
Richard acts in cases covering all aspects of intellectual property law. Patent actions he has acted in have mostly been in the biotechnology and chemical fields. His recent work in trade mark litigation has included many of the most significant cases concerning parallel imports, as well as more general aspects of trade mark law. He has acted in many reported copyright, design right, passing off and confidential information cases. Richard has appeared in the English courts at all levels, in the European Court of Justice and the European Court of First Instance. He appears several times each year in the European Patent Office.
Richard is one of the General Editors (with Professor Thomas Dreier and Charles Gielen) of the Concise IP series, comprising five volumes of commentary on European intellectual property law, published by Kluwer Law. He is also co-editor (with Jochen Pagenberg) of the Concise European Patent Law volume in that series, pub. March 2007. Richard is co-author (with Professor Alan Dashwood and Robin White) of A Guide to the Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Convention, also published by Kluwer Law.
